Baba Yaga

Baba Yaga is an archfae old enough that the Faewyld grew up around her. She keeps a house that walks on bird legs and fences her yard with bones that repeat every name spoken at the gate. She rides a mortar that she steers with a pestle. She helps any creature that reaches her door, and she names the errand and the price herself. She holds to both to the letter, and whoever accepted them is held the same way.

Traits

  • Name Fence

She knows the name of any creature that has spoken at her fence, and has advantage on attack rolls against that creature while it stands in her yard.

  • Cold Iron

She takes an extra 10 damage from a weapon made of cold iron, and cannot regain hit points on a turn in which one has hit her.

  • Binding Terms

Once she and a creature have agreed on an errand, neither can take an action that breaks the terms until the errand is finished.

Actions

  • Multiattack

She makes two Pestle attacks, or uses Bone Fence and makes one Pestle attack, or uses Set the Errand and makes one Pestle attack.

  • Pestle

    +8 to hit · reach 10 ft.

    4d8 + 3 bludgeoning damage

She brings the stone pestle down with both hands.

  • Set the Errand

One creature within 60 feet that can hear her makes a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw. On a failure it accepts an errand of her choosing and is Charmed for 24 hours or until the errand is done. While Charmed this way it cannot willingly travel more than 1 mile from the task she named.

  • Bone Fence

The fence rises at a point she can see within 120 feet. Each creature in a 20-foot radius makes a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw, taking 10d8 piercing damage on a failure, or half as much damage on a success.

  • Ride the Mortar Bonus action

She moves up to 60 feet without provoking opportunity attacks.
