Rust Crawler
A rust crawler eats only worked metal and prefers load-bearing members because they are the thickest. It works along a spar inside a structural void for months and leaves the outer skin untouched. A rust ripper stripping a weapon is an incident. A crawler in a keel means the vessel is a write-off, and the first sign of it is an instrument reading that goes unbelieved until a second crew confirms it.
