Satyr Sage
The satyr sage has lived three hundred years at the edge of one wood and knows its land, its history and its inhabitants. He will not answer a question while sober or unbound. Visitors add wine to the spring he drinks from, tie him with a rope and wait. His answers are accurate and unwelcome, and he delivers them as jokes at the listener's expense.
