Way of the Drunken Master
A Monk tradition of staggering footwork: bonus speed and free movement after attacking, redirected misses, canceled disadvantage and a Flurry of Blows with up to three extra attacks.
Identity
The Way of the Drunken Master is a Monk tradition built on a lurching, off-balance walk that keeps an opponent from lining up a strike. It is taught in frontier taverns, in the Black Meridian pit circuits and in one Halcyion monastery that does not discuss the matter. Some practitioners drink, and most of the good ones stopped years ago and kept the walk.
Features
- L3 Drunken Footwork
You gain proficiency in the Performance skill and with brewer's supplies. Immediately after you take the Attack action on your turn, your walking speed increases by 10 feet until the end of that turn, and moving out of a hostile creature's reach does not provoke opportunity attacks for the rest of that turn.
- L7 Tipsy Sway
When a creature misses you with a melee attack, you can use your reaction to redirect it to a different creature within 5 feet of you. The original attack roll is compared against the new target's AC. If you are Prone, you can also stand up by spending only 5 feet of movement.
- L11 Lucky Stumble
When you make an ability check, attack roll or saving throw with disadvantage, you can spend 2 Ki to cancel the disadvantage. Once on each of your turns, you can also spend 1 Ki as part of your movement to fall Prone and stand again. Each creature that has an opportunity attack against you must then succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your Ki save DC or lose that attack.
- L15 Sidestep
When a creature within 5 feet of you targets you with an attack, it must first succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your Ki save DC. On a failure, it loses the attack and you move it 5 feet in a direction of your choice. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a short or long rest.
- L18 Drunken Flurry Capstone
Once per short rest, when you use Flurry of Blows, you can make up to three additional attacks with it, if each attack targets a different creature. Opportunity attacks against you are made with disadvantage.
