Hallowed Hunter
A Ranger Archetype with a limited ordination, adding radiant damage and a blessing, a warding aura, a healing pool, consecrated ground, and a smiting finishing stroke.
Identity
The Hallowed Hunter is the Ranger Archetype a temple sends when the problem is three weeks upriver and will not wait for a procession. Hunters hold a limited ordination: the authority to bless, to ward, and to end what the order has ruled should end, without the administrative weight of a pulpit. The Archetype sits between a Ranger and a Paladin. Hunters travel light, bury what they kill, and keep a written account for an order that will read it in a year and a half.
Features
- L3 Consecrated Trail
You gain proficiency in the Religion skill. Once per turn when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can deal an extra 1d6 radiant damage. As a bonus action, you can bless one creature you can see within Close range. Until the end of your next turn, that creature adds 1d4 to its next attack roll or saving throw. You can bless a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a short rest.
- L7 Warding Presence
You and allies within 10 feet of you have advantage on saving throws against being Charmed or Frightened, and on saving throws against effects created by aberrations, fiends, and undead.
- L11 Healing Pool
You have a pool of healing power equal to five times your Ranger level, which refreshes when you finish a long rest. As an action, you can touch a creature and spend any number of points from the pool to restore that many hit points to it. You can instead spend 5 points from the pool to end one disease, or one condition of your choice from Blinded, Deafened, Paralyzed, or Poisoned.
- L15 Hallowed Ground
Once per short rest, as a bonus action, you consecrate a 20-foot-radius area centered on yourself for 1 minute. The area moves with you. Allies in the area regain hit points equal to your Wisdom modifier at the start of each of their turns, and hostile aberrations, fiends, and undead in the area have disadvantage on attack rolls.
- L18 Sanctified Kill Capstone
Once per long rest, as an action, you make one weapon attack against a creature within your reach or your weapon's range. On a hit, the target takes an extra 8d8 radiant damage. If the target is an aberration, a fiend, or an undead, it also makes a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failure, it drops to 0 hit points if it has 100 hit points or fewer remaining. Whether the attack hits or misses, every ally within 30 feet of you regains hit points equal to your Ranger level.
