Pact of the Divine
A Warlock patronage of a god of the Pantheon of Primus, with a rerolled saving throw, a damage-resistance writ, a radiant judgment, and a temporary avatar form.
Identity
The Pact of the Divine is the Warlock patronage that negotiated with a god of the Pantheon of Primus instead of being chosen by one. Somewhere there is a covenant with the Warlock's name in it, agreed at a shrine, a deathbed, or the losing end of a battle, and the god on the other side has held up their end ever since. The arrangement embarrasses most clergy, who consider it a transaction where devotion should be.
Features
- L3 Terms of the Covenant
You carry the wording of your covenant on your person. You gain proficiency in the Religion skill and in one of Insight, Persuasion, or Lore. Once per short rest, when you fail a saving throw, you can invoke a clause of your covenant and reroll it, using the new result. Invoking a clause costs you 1d6 radiant damage, which you take whether the reroll succeeds or fails.
- L7 Writ of Sanctuary
As a bonus action, you can spend 1 Pact Slot to name a creature within Close range and a damage type. For 1 minute, that creature has resistance to the named damage type and automatically succeeds on saving throws against being Charmed or Frightened. You can use this feature once per short rest without spending a Pact Slot.
- L11 Called Judgment
As an action, you can call one creature within Medium range to judgment under your covenant. It makes a Charisma saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failure, it takes 8d8 radiant damage and has disadvantage on attack rolls against you until the end of your next turn. On a success, it takes half damage and suffers no other effect. If the target has broken an oath, a contract, or a sworn word within the last 30 days, it makes the save with disadvantage, and the GM decides what counts. You can use this feature once per short rest.
- L15 Covenant Protection
You have resistance to radiant damage and to necrotic damage, and you count as a celestial for any effect that detects, wards against, or banishes by creature type. Once per long rest, when you would drop to 0 hit points, you drop to 1 hit point instead. Your patron settles the difference at a time of its choosing.
- L18 Avatar of the Covenant Capstone
Once per long rest, as an action, you let your patron act through you for 1 minute. You gain a flying speed of 40 feet and can hover, you gain a bonus of 2 to your Armor Class, and your spell attacks deal an extra 1d10 radiant damage. Allies within 15 feet of you have advantage on saving throws. When the minute ends, you gain one level of the Exhausted condition.
