Petrifying Gaze
A creature that starts its turn within 30 feet of the basilisk and can see its eyes makes a DC 12 Constitution saving throw. On a failure it is Restrained and repeats the save at the end of its next turn, becoming Petrified on a second failure. A creature that averts its eyes cannot be affected and treats the basilisk as heavily obscured until the start of its next turn.
