Boggard Bulwark
A boggard village sits on the only firm ground for a mile and has two or three approaches a person can walk, and bulwarks hold them. The shield is layered shell on a frame and heavier than it looks, and a bulwark's job is to hold it steady in the gap while the spears work over the top.
