When a kobold warren loses a level, it also loses the kobolds who worked that level. On the surface such a kobold has no claim and no trade anyone will hire, so it sits at the edge of a market town and watches the crowd with an eye trained on ore and shift rotations. It will name every person who came through that week for the price of a meal.
