Frontier
Everything outside the named powers, governed locally or not at all.
The Frontier is the name for every world outside the reach of the named powers: independent worlds running their own governments, worlds running no government at all, pre-industrial planets that were never contacted or were contacted once and written off, and worlds recovering from a collapse. It has no organization of its own.
No central authority governs the Frontier and no law runs across it. A settlement keeps what it can defend and trades with whoever arrives. Resupply is local, irregular and expensive, so a traveler is expected to arrive with what they need.
