Domain of War
A Cleric Domain of battlefield chaplains with martial proficiencies, a +10 attack roll boost as a Spell Divinity option, bonus-action attacks, weapon resistance and a battle-avatar form.
Identity
The Domain of War is the Cleric Domain of the firing line: war-priests, legion-chaplains and the shipboard confessors of any fleet that still keeps one. War-clerics hold that somebody has to bless the rifle so the soldier does not have to, and they speak the rites over a wounded squadmate while incoming fire chips the bulkhead. Their gods include patron saints of last stands, war-crowns and frontier deities whose only commandment is that the column comes home.
Features
- L3 Battle Training
Domain Spells. You always have the following spells prepared, and they do not count against the number of spells you can prepare each day: Cantrips: Ember, Static 1st level: Beam, Spark Bolt 2nd level: Dazzle, Stun Shot 3rd level: Flare 5th level: Lance You can cast each one once you can cast spells of its level. Soldier's Carriage. You gain proficiency with heavy armor and with martial weapons. Spell Divinity: Guided Strike. When you or an ally you can see within 30 feet makes an attack roll, you can add +10 to the roll after the die is rolled and before the GM says whether it hits or misses. You use your reaction to do this for an ally, and no action for your own attack.
- L7 War Priest
When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can use a bonus action to make one melee or ranged weapon attack with a weapon you are proficient with. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. A short rest restores one expended use. The bonus attack uses your normal attack roll and damage and is not a spell.
- L11 Spell Divinity: War God's Blessing
As an action, you present your holy symbol and speak a battle-rite. For 1 minute, you and each ally within 30 feet of you who can see or hear you have advantage on saving throws against being Frightened and on saving throws to maintain concentration on a spell while taking damage in combat. The effect ends early if you are reduced to 0 hit points or are Incapacitated.
- L15 Weapon Resistance
You have resistance to bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage from weapon attacks, whether mundane or magical. This resistance does not apply to damage from spells, environmental effects, or unarmed strikes by creatures of Power Rating 17 or higher.
- L18 Avatar of War Capstone
Once per long rest, as a bonus action, you assume the Battle-Avatar Form for 1 minute. While in this form, you gain a +2 bonus to attack rolls and damage rolls with weapons you are proficient with, and you have advantage on initiative checks and on Strength checks. The first time each turn you reduce a hostile creature to 0 hit points with a melee attack, you can immediately move up to half your speed without provoking opportunity attacks. You cannot be Frightened. The form ends early if you fall Unconscious or end it as a free action.
