Celestial Guardian
A Celestial Guardian is a massive lion-bodied sentinel with a mane of living flame and jaws wide enough to close over a breastplate. The heavens station one at a temple, a shrine or a burial ground that must not be profaned, and it holds that post until the place falls or the mandate is withdrawn. It attacks only creatures that desecrate its ward, and it does not retreat or negotiate. A creature that enters the protected ground with honest intent passes freely, and one that means harm is met with a roar that frightens it and keeps it from moving closer. When it dies the mandate ends, and the place is unguarded until another is sent.
