Cyber Assassin

A cyber assassin is a sealed white shell with a blank faceplate and two spools of plasma lash wound into the forearms. The lashes extend across a room, cut through a doorway and retract before the target falls. The conversion costs more than most ships and replaces the face along with the rest of the body. Clients hire one through a broker to kill a named person on a list.

Traits

  • Opening Cut

The assassin deals an extra 6d6 damage to a creature that has not yet taken a turn in combat, or to one it has advantage against.

  • Ever Alert

The assassin has advantage on Initiative, and it cannot be surprised while conscious.

  • Blank Face

The assassin is immune to any effect that would read its thoughts or determine whether it is lying.

Actions

  • Multiattack

The assassin makes three Plasma Lash attacks.

  • Plasma Lash

    +10 to hit · reach 20 ft.

    2d8 + 6 plasma damage

A lash of burning plasma line from a forearm spool.

  • Crossing Lashes

    DC 18 Dexterity save

The assassin brings both lashes through a 20-foot radius. Every creature in the area makes a Dexterity saving throw, taking 6d8 plasma damage on a failure and half as much on a success. Recharges after it rolls a 5 or 6 on a d6 at the start of its turn.

  • Vanish Bonus action

The assassin takes the Hide action. It can do this even while observed, as long as it is within 5 feet of cover or dim light.

  • Line Pull Reaction

When the assassin is targeted by an attack, it anchors a lash and moves up to 30 feet to a surface it can see. If this moves it out of range, the attack misses.
