Nosferatu
A nosferatu is a vampire that can no longer pass for living. It is bald and hunched, with long fingers and front teeth like a rat's. It nests in the lowest decks of old ships and in plague-struck towns. Rats follow it and spread disease, and a crew or a district starts dying before the nosferatu is found.

Actions
-
Claws
+9 to hit · reach 5 ft.
2d8 + 5 slashing damage
The nosferatu makes two attacks with this action. A creature hit by both is Grappled.
-
Plague Bite Bonus action
DC 16 Constitution save
+9 to hit · reach 5 ft.
3d6 + 5 necrotic damage
The nosferatu can use this attack only against a Grappled, Restrained or Unconscious creature. The target's hit point maximum drops by the damage dealt, and the nosferatu regains that many hit points. The target also makes a Constitution saving throw or contracts a wasting fever: it cannot regain hit points except by a long rest until the disease is cured.
-
Dread Stare
DC 16 Wisdom save
Each creature within 30 feet that can see the nosferatu makes a Wisdom saving throw or is Frightened for one minute, repeating the save at the end of each of its turns.
-
Call the Rats
Once per day, two swarms of rats emerge within 30 feet and act on the nosferatu's turn until it dies or dismisses them.
