The Halcyion issue combat shield, adjustable across four grip frames so a Thuulean and a Qy'reen can be handed the same one. It grants a +2 bonus to Armor Class beyond the shield's own. Backed with a strike face that breaks up a round before the laminate has to catch it, and re-strapped for the weight.
