Myconid

Ambulatory fungus folk who want very little and say less. Myconid colonies grow in the dark corners of the world and measure a visitor by how quietly they arrive. They are peaceful until a colony is threatened, at which point the spores stop being decorative.

Features

  • Fungal Body

You are a fungus rather than an animal. You are immune to poison damage and to the poisoned condition, and effects that specifically target humanoids do not affect you. You need half the usual food and no sleep beyond four hours of rooted quiet.

  • Rapport Spores

As an action you release a cloud of spores in a 10-foot radius. Willing creatures in the area can communicate telepathically with you and with each other for 1 hour, to a range of 30 feet, without sharing a language.

  • Distress Spores

When you take damage you can use your reaction to burst. Each creature within 5 feet must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or be poisoned until the end of its next turn.

  • Lightless Growth

You have darkvision to 60 feet and advantage on Stealth checks made in caverns, undergrowth, and other dark and damp terrain.
