Vanir

Lineage of Elf

Long-lived, fine-boned elves trained in the courts, whose lineages preserved their spell-craft through the long quiet centuries after the First Continuum Crisis, and many of whose houses still hold seats in the old courts.

Features

  • Spell-Born

Vanir bloodlines have been sensitive to the Rift since the Mythar era. You have advantage on saving throws against being Charmed, and magic cannot put you to sleep against your will. When you would gain your Rift Affinity at character creation, your starting Rift Affinity is increased by 1, subject to the standard cap.

  • Courtly Composure

You were schooled in the long etiquette of the Vanir courts: diction, deflection, the long pause. You can read, write, and speak Vanir in addition to your other languages, and you have advantage on Charisma checks made to maintain composure under provocation, gauge a noble's true position, or hold rank in a formal setting.

  • Inherited Cantrip

Choose one cantrip from any Channel at character creation. You know it and can cast it without expending a slot. Your spellcasting ability for this cantrip is Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma, chosen at character creation. The cantrip scales with your character level as normal.
