Identity

The Sorcerer is a full channeler who never studied. The power arrived through a bloodline, contact with another plane or an unchosen event, and the Sorcerous Origin chosen at 3rd level names which. The source often shows on the body as scales, heat, light or a sign harder to name.

Spell Points are a flexible pool spent to cast spells at any level you have access to. Cost = spell level (cantrips free). Spell save DC = 8 + proficiency bonus + CHA modifier. Metamagic options consume additional Spell Points per Metamagic effect.

Level Progression

  • L1
    Spontaneous Channeling

You know a fixed number of spells, which increases with your Sorcerer level: two at 1st level, one more at most levels after that, up to fifteen at 17th level. You cast them by spending Spell Points equal to the spell's level. Cantrips cost no Spell Points. You do not prepare spells, and every spell you know is always available.

    Innate Affinity

Choose one cantrip from the Sorcerer cantrip list when you create your character. You know it in addition to your other cantrips, and it does not count against your cantrips known. That cantrip's Channel becomes your Affinity Channel. Once per long rest, a spell you cast from your Affinity Channel costs 1 fewer Spell Point (minimum 0).

  • L2
    Metamagic

Choose 2 Metamagic options from the list below. You can apply only one Metamagic option to a single casting unless a feature says otherwise. Twinned Spell. Target a second creature with a single-target spell. Cost: the spell's level in Spell Points. Quickened Spell. Cast a spell that takes 1 action as a bonus action. Cost: 2 Spell Points. Subtle Spell. Cast a spell without vocalization or gesture. Cost: 1 Spell Point. Heightened Spell. One target has disadvantage on its saving throw against the spell. Cost: 3 Spell Points. Extended Spell. Double a spell's duration, up to 24 hours. Cost: 1 Spell Point. Distant Spell. Double a spell's range, or give a spell with a range of touch a range of 30 feet. Cost: 1 Spell Point. Empowered Spell. Reroll a number of damage dice up to your Charisma modifier. Cost: 1 Spell Point.

  • L3 Subclass feature
    Sorcerous Origin

Choose the origin of your power: Accursed Acolyte, Celestial Descendant, Dragonsblood, Earthborn, Etherborn, Fiendsblood, Mythar Descendant, Sunborn, Void-Touched, Waterborn, or Wyldblood. Your origin grants features now and at 7th, 11th, 15th, and 18th level.

  • L4 ASI / Feat
  • L5
    Surge Pool

Add your Charisma modifier to your maximum Spell Points. Recalculate the total whenever your Charisma modifier changes. These extra Spell Points refresh on a long rest like the rest of the pool.

  • L6
    Surge Ward

When you take damage from a spell or from an effect that allowed a saving throw, you can use your reaction to spend 2 Spell Points to halve that damage. If this reduces the damage to 0, the Rift discharges audibly, and every creature within 5 feet of you that can hear it takes 1d6 force damage.

  • L7 Subclass feature
  • L8 ASI / Feat
  • L9
    Additional Metamagic

You learn one more Metamagic option from the level-2 list.

  • L10
    Sorcerous Restoration Capstone

Once per short rest, you regain Spell Points equal to half your Sorcerer level (rounded up), up to your maximum.

  • L11 Subclass feature
  • L12 ASI / Feat
  • L14
    Additional Metamagic

You learn one more Metamagic option (4 total).

  • L15 Subclass feature
  • L16 ASI / Feat
  • L17
    Additional Metamagic

You learn one more Metamagic option (5 total).

    Combined Metamagic

You can apply two Metamagic options to a single casting, paying the cost of each. The casting still uses the action economy of the highest-action Metamagic applied.

  • L18 Subclass feature
  • L19 ASI / Feat
  • L20
    Sorcerous Mastery Capstone

Your Charisma score and Charisma maximum each increase by 2, up to a maximum of 24. At the start of each of your turns, you regain 1 Spell Point if you have fewer than your maximum. Once per long rest, when you cast a spell of 5th level or lower, you can cast it without spending Spell Points.
