Saurus age slowly and keep growing throughout their lives. The eldest clan-mothers reach sizes well above the Saurus norm and often keep the ancestral-memory rites.
Features
- Natural Armor
Your scales serve as armor. When you are not wearing other armor, your AC equals 12 + your Dexterity modifier. You can wear light armor over your scales without penalty, in which case the armor's AC formula applies and your scales grant a +1 bonus to that AC.
- Cold-Blooded
Your physiology is heat-dependent. You have vulnerability to cold damage. You have advantage on saving throws against effects that would cause heat exhaustion, dehydration in arid environments, or damage from extreme heat. You ignore the first level of exhaustion suffered from heat-related sources each long rest.
- Ancestral Memory
Once per long rest, you may consult the racial memory for a fragment of relevant ancient knowledge: the original name of a ruin, the function of a Saurus relic, the dialect of a pre-Crisis sigil, or the rough location of a long-buried saurus site within the current region. The GM determines the fragment's precise content; it is always something a Saurus of the deep past might plausibly have known.
- Sun-Tongue
You can read, write, and speak Saurian (a rolling, sun-paced cant) and Common.
- Tail Sweep
You sweep your tail at the attacker's feet. It makes a Strength saving throw against 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier or falls Prone. You can use this a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all uses on a short or long rest.
