Features
- Dual-Form Perception (Refined)
As Istryxian, with greater precision: your emotional-resonance sense functions to 45 feet instead of 30 feet, and you can distinguish between layered emotional states, such as fear masked by feigned calm or affection beneath stated hostility.
- Ancestral Memory-Pool (Scholar's Depth)
As Istryxian, with broader access: you may invoke the memory-pool twice per long rest instead of once. Additionally, when you spend at least 10 minutes in concentrated study of a single topic for which the Istryxian memory-pool plausibly has records (history before the First Continuum Crisis, ancient languages, regional cultural lineages, philosophical schools), you gain a useful fragment of information at GM discretion, without requiring a check.
- Resonance-Reading
As Istryxian: you can sense the presence and broad Channel of active Rift energy within 60 feet. Zaelyth train the sense furthest of the three sublineages for cultural practice and ritual literacy.
- Diplomat's Cadence
You gain proficiency in Persuasion and one additional language of your choice. When you spend at least 1 minute in conversation with a creature (or a small group), you can identify which language, dialect, or cultural register will most effectively reach them, and you gain advantage on Charisma (Persuasion, Insight, or Deception) checks made against them for the rest of the conversation. Hostile or actively threatening interactions are excluded.
- Memory-Keeper
You can perfectly recall any conversation you have personally participated in, any text you have spent at least 1 minute reading, or any face you have studied for at least 10 seconds, for up to one year. After a year, the recall fades to the standard Istryxian memory-pool's slower retrieval. Zaelyth memory-keepers serve as living archives, and many Aurelion and Halcyion diplomatic houses retain a Zaelyth advisor for this capacity.
