PR 8

Wight Lord

A wight lord wears red robes over mail that has not rusted, with a circlet set into the bone of the brow and a blade lit cold blue in a hand with no flesh left on it. It is what a commander becomes when the rites are said over the wrong grave, and the retinue buried around it rises when it does. It will parley, but it does not keep terms. It remembers its name, its holdings and every grievance it died with.

Traits

  • Calls the Retinue

It knows the location of every undead within 1 mile that was buried with it. Those creatures have advantage on attack rolls while within 60 feet of it.

  • Sunlight Withers It

In direct sunlight it has disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks, and it regains no hit points.

  • Remembers the Grievance

It has advantage on attack rolls against a creature carrying anything taken from its barrow.

Actions

  • Multiattack

The wight lord makes two Grave-Blade attacks, or one Grave-Blade attack and uses Draw the Life.

  • Grave-Blade

    +7 to hit · reach 5 ft.

    2d8 + 4 cold damage

A longsword burning cold along the edge.

  • Draw the Life

    DC 15 Constitution save

One creature within 10 feet makes a Constitution saving throw. On a failure it takes 6d8 necrotic damage and its hit point maximum is reduced by that amount until it finishes a long rest. The wight lord regains hit points equal to half the damage dealt. A humanoid killed this way rises as a wight at the start of the lord's next turn.

  • Order the Dead Bonus action

One allied undead within 60 feet moves up to its speed and makes one attack.

  • Grave Cold Reaction

    DC 15 Constitution save

When it is hit by a melee attack, the attacker makes a Constitution saving throw or takes 3d6 cold damage and has its speed reduced by 10 feet until the end of its next turn.
