PR 6

Scroll Golem

A scroll golem is built by the old golem technique: a slip with a word on it goes in the mouth and the body stands up. Here the body is ten thousand pages rolled and bound into limbs. The guard and the collection are one object, so fire destroys both.

Traits

  • Living Archive

Damage dealt to it destroys documents permanently. Burning it destroys the whole collection.

  • Recitation

Can recite any document bound into it, and will do so at length when asked a question it holds the answer to.

  • Animating Slip

Removing the slip from its mouth stops it. Reaching it requires a DC 18 Dexterity check made against a Grappled or Incapacitated golem.

Actions

  • Multiattack

    Makes two slam attacks.

  • Slam

    2d10 + 4 bludgeoning damage

  • Paper Storm

Each creature within 15 feet makes a DC 15 Dexterity save, taking 5d6 slashing damage and being Blinded until the end of its next turn on a failure, or half as much and no blindness on a success.

  • Read Aloud

One creature within 30 feet makes a DC 15 Intelligence save or is Incapacitated until the end of its next turn while the golem recites the relevant passage.
