Star Eater
A star eater arrives from deep space, takes a long orbit, and begins drawing on the star, which dims on a curve that does not flatten. The falling output reaches the inner worlds as a climate problem years before anyone can get close enough to attack it. Two systems have been evacuated on that basis, and neither evacuation was complete.

Traits
-
Drawing
While the eater is in a system, that star's output falls by one percent a year and does not recover. The loss ends only when the eater leaves.
-
Vacuum Native
Needs no air, takes no damage from vacuum, cold or radiation, and moves in open space without a drive.
-
Stored Light
The eater has a pool of 200 points of stored energy, which it spends on Release and refills at 20 per hour while in starlight.
Actions
-
Multiattack
Makes two tendril attacks and uses Release.
-
Tendril
+14 to hit · reach 60 ft.
5d10 + 8 force damage
The target is Grappled (escape DC 22) and pulled 30 feet.
-
Release
The eater spends up to 100 stored energy to fire a line 600 feet long and 30 feet wide. Each creature in it makes a DC 21 Dexterity save, taking 1d10 radiant damage per 10 energy spent on a failure or half as much on a success.
-
Draw Down
One star, reactor or power source within a mile dims. Every construct and powered system within a mile loses half its remaining capacity, and the eater regains 50 hit points.
