You send a message of twenty-five words or fewer to a creature you are familiar with, anywhere on the same plane. It hears the message and can reply with twenty-five words of its own. Distance does not degrade the message. A message sent across a planar boundary has a 5 percent chance of reaching the wrong recipient. If the creature you messaged declines to reply, you cannot tell that from the message not arriving.
